                                                             Tun Hussein Minister Of Defence

OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF LIMA’17 Kuala Lumpur, 23 June 2016

Since its debut in 1991, the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) has provided the maritime and aerospace industry with a unique platform for networking and business opportunities, functioning as a gateway to Asia Pacific’s dynamic markets. Today, it is with great pride, that I announce LIMA will be returning next year for its 14th instalment from 21-25 March, 2017 in Langkawi. With our new organisers, EN Projects Sdn Bhd, the upcoming LIMA ‘17 seeks to be the most impactful one yet, expecting 550 exhibitors from 38 countries, with a display of at least 80 aircrafts and 68 warships and boats from around the world. This growth of targeted exhibitors and displays aims to position the upcoming LIMA as the premier event in the maritime and aerospace industry, cemented with an expected an increase in trade visitors and delegates to 40,000 and 380 respectively. Deemed Asia Pacific's premier maritime and aerospace showcase, LIMA '17 builds on the successes of previous exhibitions; offering traders and businesses a unique networking opportunity where they can connect with their target audience, and explore viable opportunities within the fastchanging defence and commercial landscapes in the region's dynamic markets. The LIMA Exhibition also prides itself on public attendees, with LIMA ’17 looking to incorporate engaging and fun activities such as the LIMA Fest, LIMA Career Fair and LIMA Concert, each meticulously crafted to not only increase public participation, but also encourage a higher participation amongst Malaysian youths. For the past 25 years, the exhibition has been steadily increasing in numbers of exhibitors, delegates, trade visitors, and participating nations. With that, I would like to take this opportunity thank the local and global participants, the general public, and the ministries involved, who has spared no effort in making sure LIMA remains the pinnacle of maritime and aerospace exhibition.
